Obama’s Cash for Caulkers Proposal Offers up to $12,000 Per Home
On Tuesday, President. Obama outlined proposals intended to promote the creation of green jobs.
The proposals included:
- incentives for small businesses to hire more workers
- additional money to build roads and other construction projects
- rebates for homeowners who invest in energy-saving improvements
- eliminating capital gains taxes on small business investment
Obama said he wanted more subsidies for green jobs. The administration received far more qualified applications, particularly from makers of wind turbines and solar panels, than it had money to give.
